In the heat exchanger, the object to be cooled is the incoming hot fluid, and the heat will be taken away by the cold fluid flowing into the heat exchanger. The cold and hot fluids are separated by the design of the structure. The following example details the internal flow path and working principle of an air-to-air heat exchanger.

In a cross-flow heat exchange core body, the air passages are designed in intervals, and the hot air and cold air exchange heat through the walls of the passages. Assume the heat exchanger is mounted on one side of the cabinet.

The hot air inside the cabinet is sent to the heat exchanger through the internal circulation fan of the cabinet, and enters the internal air flow channel; the fresh cold air outside the cabinet is driven by the external fan, and is continuously sucked into the external air flow channel in the heat exchanger. The internal hot air and the external cold air complete the heat exchange in the heat exchanger.

Through the working process of the heat exchanger, it can be found that under the action of the heat exchanger, the heat of the gas inside the cabinet can be transferred away in time without directly introducing fresh air into the cabinet, completely avoiding the outdoor air. The impact of water, dust and harmful gases in the equipment on the internal modules of the equipment ensures a high protection level of the product.

Heat exchangers are generally serialized standard products. When selecting a suitable heat exchanger, heat exchange capacity, geometry, weight, application ambient temperature, noise, etc. need to be considered. Among them, the heat exchange capacity is a key parameter of the heat exchanger, indicating the amount of heat exchange that the heat exchanger can support per degree Celsius temperature rise.
