Test medium

1. The Pressure Vessel’s medium toxicity is extreme, highly hazardous or designed not to allow a trace of leakage, must be tested for gas tightness.

2. The test gas should be dry and clean air、nitrogen or other inert gas.

Test temperature

Carbon steel and low-alloy steel pressure vessels: not less than 5 ℃.

Other materials pressure vessels: according to the design drawings.

Test method

1. Gas tightness test should be carried out after the hydraulic test qualified.

2. Pressure vessels should be fully assembled safety accessories. If the safety accessories are assembled on site before commissioning, it should be stated in the gas-tightness test report of the pressure vessel quality certificate that after assembling the safety accessories, it is necessary to conduct the gas-tightness test again on site.

3. The pressure should rise slowly during the test (the rate of pressure rise is not higher than 0.2MPa/min), and the pressure should be kept for not less than 30 minutes after reaching the specified test pressure, all welded joints and connection parts should be checked for leakage.

Attentions:

The pressure should be kept constant during the inspection.

Continuous pressurization shall not be used to maintain the same test pressure.

After the test pressure is completed, the gas in the container be released slowly (the rate of pressure reduction is not higher than 0.1MPa/min).

The sudden release method is not desirable to release the pressure. Small containers can also be submerged in water below 200-300mm for inspection.
