Shell assembly welding requirements

1、In the cylinder fabric, the length of the first cylinder section should be considered to be not less than 300mm.

2、When assembling, the cross welding seam should not be used. The length of the outer arc between the centerline of the weld of the class A joint of the adjacent cylinder section and the centerline of the weld of the class A joint of the head and the centerline of the weld of the class A joint of the adjacent cylinder section should be greater than 3 times the thickness of the steel t and not less than 100mm.

3, shell openings should be arranged as far as possible not in the weld and its adjacent areas, in line with GB150 openings to fill the requirements and allow the opening without additional reinforcement, can be opened in the ring weld area, but must be 100% RT or UT according to GB150 section 10.8.2.2, due to openings and removable welds may not be affected by the quality of flaw detection.

4, the vessel inner parts and shell welding welds should be avoided as far as possible between the cylinder joint welding and cylinder and head welding welds.

5、Welding seams on the vessel covered by reinforcement ring, support, gasket, etc. should be polished to be flush with the base material.

6、The longitudinal joints in the cylinder part, the annular joints connected between spherical head and cylinder, all the welded joints in all kinds of convex heads and the joints connected between embedded receiver and shell butt are all Class A welded joints.

7、 Powerful assembly is not allowed.

8、 Between the pressurized components or pressurized components and non-pressurized components assembled positioning welding, if retained as part of the weld metal, it should be welded according to the welding requirements of the pressurized components.
